Which Program is Right for You?
Private In-Home Training
The Private sessions are great if you have the time and patience to work with your dog. Some people love the idea and they excel with this option. It is slower than the Board and Train Program, but not everyone is in a rush.
Board and Train
The Board and Train Program is a great option if you are not able to make the time commitment to daily, challenging training and want the finest training available.
The Board and Train – Puppy program has benefits that the private in home training may not successfully facilitate. I allow puppies to be puppies, but I manage the less desirable behaviors such as biting, jumping on people and potty oopsy’s. Puppies will be exposed to all the obedience behaviors. Their training is done using positive reinforcement. If they are not up to a certain training challenge, we move on. A puppy will never be forced to comply. Puppies are housed with me in my home. I am able to work with them on and off throughout the day. They learn house manners, potty training and have fun in a ‘regular type’ setting. They also get their own short training session(s) outside
Training Your Puppy (8 weeks to 5 Months) Will Receive:
⦿ Reasonable Recall:
The puppy will learn its name and head your direction when called.
⦿ Sit:
The puppy will learn how to sit and do well most of the time.
⦿ Down:
This will happen during a play session. They will be encouraged to play and roll while learning the command.
⦿ Learn to Walk on a Leash:
The puppy will learn the feeling of leash resistance and become comfortable.
⦿ Potty Training:
The puppy will be crate trained and learn house manners.
⦿ On-Going Support:
Once your puppy is trained, I will teach you how to manage your puppy.
Stay, Wait For Release and Place will not be done unless the puppy evaluation indicates they are mature enough to understand and have fun with those behaviors.
How Board & Train Program Works
The process entails weeks of intense training.
Week
1
Connie will contact the incoming class and discuss the supplies the dog needs upon its arrival. We will discuss drop off time and what will be produced during the training program. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions before your dog arrives.
Weeks
2-5
Drop off and start the 4 week Board and Train Program. This is where the dog begins intensive training. During this time you will receive updates, pictures and videos of the progression of your dog! Visiting is allowed.
Graduation Day/ Workshop: On this day you will come and learn what your dog now knows! We will walk you through the entire process. This workshop will begin the training process for the human side of the team. The workshop will equip you to keep your pup going in the right direction. Teach you how to hold the dog accountable and how to correct any mistakes the dog may make in the future.
